Dental Cleanings

While it’s very common to experience some anxiety about seeing the dentist, a cleaning is a generally comfortable, pain-free experience! Your hygienist will take their time to gently clean and polish your teeth, making sure you feel relaxed and at ease.

Regular dental visits are the best way to achieve and maintain good oral health and overall wellness. You should expect to see the dentist twice yearly for routine preventive care and checkups. If you have a condition that requires follow-up treatment, you will see the dentist as is recommended by our office.

For most patients, yes. Preventive visits, such as checkups, cleanings, and X-rays, are typically covered 100% by your dental insurance plan. That means you won’t pay anything out of pocket. However, periodontal cleanings (commonly known as “deep cleanings”) to help treat gum disease are not considered regular preventive cleanings and may only be covered in part by your insurance. We will confirm your dental benefits and help you understand the benefits you’re owed during your visit.

Generally, you should expect to schedule dental cleanings every six months, or twice yearly. This will keep your teeth free of plaque and help prevent many common dental concerns.
